Park only on Perseverance Road at 53.775833, -1.883213, then walk up the track towards the mast and continue north until the view opens out in front of you. Another option is to park and scan at 53.775164, -1.887915 at the start of the Ned Hill Track, which also has excellent views from which to watch.Species
The bulk of VizMig species are those typical to the inland north of England; Woodpigeon, Meadow Pipit, Redwing & Pink-footed Goose. Finches can be seen throughout the autumn. No notable Hirundine passage has been observed at this site. Occasionally raptors such as Marsh Harrier and Osprey can be seen, as can different species of waders; Black-tailed Godwit, Bar-tailed Godwit, Grey Plover, Golden Plover, Dunlin & Green Sandpiper.Around the site are several patches of vegetation that serve as excellent migrant traps during autumn; Spotted Flycatcher, Pied Flycatcher, Common Redstart, Lesser Whitethroat and even Yellow-browed Warbler have been found here. In more open areas of fields and dry-stone walls it is possible to pick out Whinchats, Stonechats and Wheatears. Scrubby areas are good for Grasshopper Warbler, Sedge Warbler and a single record of Reed Warbler.
