Description

Located in Ibagué, Tolima, central Colombia, in the western part of the Andes. It is part of the tropical dry forest life zone, at 900 meters above sea level. The counting site is located 9 km from center of Ibagué, in the region of Picaleña, southeast of the city. This area is located in the valley in the Opia river basin, the landscape is composed of rice, cane, cattle and suburban areas. For many years Ibagué has been trying to stop the Illegal hunting of Migratory raptors. The creation of this counting site is part of the conservation strategy that promotes education with the local community.
